Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know whether to order latex or silicone?

Latex caps are less expensive and are slightly lower in durability. These are good for one-time events, practice and where a budget must be kept. They are also the most common. Silicone caps are more durable, provide less drag and, therefore, higher-priced. They will outlast latex caps and are good for frequent use and competitive racing.

Do you have different size caps?

We have one-size-fits-all adult and child sizes.

How many colors can I use in my design?

Silicone caps can take up to 4 colors. Latex caps up to 4 colors. Adding additional imprint colors does increase the cost. The design can be different on each side of the custom printed swim caps.

How clear will the image on the cap be?

Crisp and clean. Print quality starts with the quality of art received. Vectored art files are always best to ensure the highest quality of printing. The resulting image on the cap will not be as clear as a printed picture or design since printing on a cap is done one color at a time during a mechanical print procedure. Screens are created with finalized, approved art.

Can you help me design a cap?

Yes! We offer design services from our in-house graphics department. If all you have is an idea, you can describe it to us and our team of designers will work with you to bring your vision to life.

What is the minimum number of caps per order?

The minimum for silicone swim caps is 25. The minimum for latex swim caps is 50.

What art file formats are acceptable?

While the preferred format is Adobe Illustrator CS4 or EPS, a high-resolution jpeg (300 dpi) saved at actual print size may be used, if provided in black and white. This is reviewed on a case by case basis. Vectored art is always best for producing the best finished product.

What if I have to change my design after I've placed an order?

Design changes are allowed as long as the product has not gone to print. This may incur additional charges, however, and the original delivery date may not be met. Once the product has gone to print, no changes or cancellation are available.

Can I make different designs on the same order?

Yes. Consider each side of a swim cap as your template to place logos, names, sponsors, etc. You can print different designs on each side of the cap, usually for the same cost but on occasion there might be an additional charge. Different designs will be considered as separate orders.

Can I choose different color caps with the same design on the same order?

Yes. Different color caps may be used with the same design. The minimum order requirement is based on the total number of caps ordered, regardless of the colors. Alternating between white ink and black ink on single color printing does not change the pricing.

What is the expected delivery time?

10-12 working days plus ship days. Depending on which option you choose (Standard or Rush), the expected delivery time is normally between 7-21 days from the time of art approval NOT when placing the order. Please note, that no refunds will be offered for delays in delivery due to problems on the shipping company’s end.

What if my order arrives damaged or looking different from what I’ve agreed to?

Replaced, discounted or refunded. Your money will be refunded if your product is materially flawed or not designed as specified on the final order sheet.

Who pays for incoming Customs and Duty Charges?

SwimHead™. SwimHead™ is not responsible for Customs and Duty Charges incurred by the client upon receipt of the product into his or her country but we make every effort to provide a delivered cost to avoid any unforeseen charges.
